Serves 4


500gms Minced beef
2 cups Fine fresh breadcrumbs
1 large egg
1 large grated onion
1/2 teaspoon Seven Seas minced ginger & garlic
1 dessertspoon minced coriander (or chopped fresh leaves if preferred)
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Maharajah's Choice Turmeric
1 teaspoon Maharajah's Choice Garam Masala
1/2 teaspoon Maharajah's Choice Coriander Ground
1 teaspoon Maharajah's Choice Cumin Powder
1 teaspoon Maharajah's Choice Chilli Powder (optional - See Cooking Notes)

 
  1. Place all ingredients into large mixing bowl. Knead with hands until the mixture is well blended and has the consistency of a paste.
  2. Mould small balls of the mixture (approximately the size of a walnut) and place 4 or 5 on a kabab skewer and barbeque until cooked. Alternatively, the mixture can be moulded into patties and fried or Barbequed.
  3. Serve with a green salad and dipping sauce such as Raita or Chilli Sauce.

Cooking Notes
  • Adding Maharajah’s Choice Chilli Powder will add more zest for those who enjoy spicier food.
  • This recipe can also be made using Minced chicken meat. The only change to the ingredients would be to add 1½ teaspoons each of cumin and coriander powder and not to add Turmeric. Chilli remains optional. The method would be the same.
